| About Us |
We're a group of very enthusiastic amateurs based in the Westmorland village of Burton-in-Kendal, midway between Kendal in Cumbria, and Lancaster in north Lancashire.
Formed originally in the 1940's the company has performed many plays locally and in competitions but we lost some members and suffered a lull of a few years. We were rejuvenated in 2003 and presented two productions in 2004, three in 2005, two each in 2006, 2007 and 2008, with two more planned for Spring and Autumn 2009.
BADS is a very friendly company which is always ready to welcome new members - whether for acting parts or for backstage work. Like all companies we have an ongoing need for more people - especially men and younger actors (anyone 17 and over can join us) - so if you have a burning desire to tread the boards or are dead set on building a set or are a dab hand with a sewing machine or needle and thread why not come along a join us?
