Radio Time
Friday 20 & Saturday 21 January 2009 in the Burton Memorial Hall
Photos // Poster 20kb // Programme 100kb // Press Release 50kb

The production is in two parts with a Pie'n'Pea Supper in between.

Part one sees the recording session at the local BBC (Burton Broadcasting Corporation) studios in front of a studio audience, of the Friday afternoon radio programmes: At the Seaside, Listen with Mummy, Treading the Boards, Techno Spot, and Poetry Corner. Part two is the Friday Night Radio Play in which Geoff and his family gather with their blind grandmother for the broadcast of the Friday Night play which Geoff himself has written, but things do not go according to plan. Disaster strikes! A power failure means the radio will not work.

To avoid upsetting Grannie, who has a frail heart and who mustn't be subjected to shock or disappointment, what can they do but perform the play themselves with the aid of the visiting doctor and vicar, and abetted by a candidate in the local election and the delivery person from the nearby supermarket.
