W.I. Blues   by John Peel, Friday 29 & Saturday 30 July 2005

W.I. Blues is a contemporary comedy/drama set around a meeting of five members of the Women's Institute. Their plans for assuming control of the local W.I. branch are subsumed by news from the women's personal lives as long-buried and new secrets are revealed, and things are not all they appear. Laughter jostles with tears as the story unfolds to the plot's final twist.

This was the World Premiere performance of a play by a local playwright and featured an all-female cast: Paula Firth, Alison Flanders, Felicity Holloway, Yvette Humphries and Jennifer Wetherill. Producer was Alison Murphy, Stage manager: Anne Nichols, Lights: George Isherwood, Prompt/sounds: Barry Morgan, Make-up: Polly Gabriel, Stage crew: Annette Donnegan, Alex Driver, Pauline Walton & Roger Bingham.
